I don't know how familiar you are with the process of part fabrication, especially the fabrication/duplication of a vintage car and truck part like a custom piece of exhaust tubing, but let me tell you, it takes a lot of time, and some highly specialized equipment. For me, I just don't have that much time available anymore. Don't get me wrong, I've spent the time in the past working long hours on a vintage car and truck part to get a job done just right, and I'd do it again if I had to, but I'd rather save the time by ordering vintage car and truck part items from an online outlet. That way I have more time to spend on other aspects of the restoration, not wasted hours bending and shaping just to get an exhaust system just right! Exhaust items, in particular, can drive you crazy, and I learned the hard way that if someone else has already gone to the trouble of tooling up to make the right vintage car and truck part items for an exhaust system, I'm not going to duplicate the process--I'm going to order it--instead of trying to make it. Getting the right aftermarket car part doesn't have to be a huge, labor intensive process anymore--get online and see if you can find it first--if you can't, then take the time to make it.
